This architectural fiction projects a possible future for Privately Owned Public Space, a conventional urban typology and incentive zoning practice, as a more mutually beneficial shared infrastructure. The private building volumes granted in exchange for the public spaces are re-imagined as dynamic and publicly accessible 'energy volumes'.
This narrative builds on ongoing research and speculation about POPS as spaces of exception that evade categorical distinction and defy binary absolutes.
